I have long thought about it and today finally did it. I signed up for a 6 day ultra-marathon race in Bhutan. This has been on my mind for years, as I always wanted to do something special. I just didn’t know what it was. Until I stumbled over a Facebook post one day – almost exactly 2 years ago. That moment it became clear to me. This is what I want to do. So you could argue, it found me!

Suffice to say I am so excited, I can hardly describe. At the same time I have enormous respect of what will come. But this is exactly what I was looking for, the new experience, a true challenge. It is about time to have personal time. I want to use it to reflect on what I have done, what I have become but most of all where I want to go from here. This is no mid-life crisis but the realisation that life is bigger, if we allow for it.

Even though most of my friends call me crazy, I’m sure some of them are intrigued. Maybe their time just hasn’t come, yet.

I receive the confirmation from the event host… added myself to the Facebook group … and started to make my first new contacts, people I soon will run with through the great Himalaya mountains. How much better can it get?
